Science Panel: Fish - The Last of their Kind?

There are millions of animal species living in the world oceans, but they are by far less researched than land animals. We know less about the ocean floor than about the surface of the moon. Nevertheless, mankind is helping itself to what’s in the oceans. With ever higher engineered possibilities, the ocean’s inhabitants are hauled from the depths to above, all the way to people’s plates. Over 140 million tons of fish annually, as well as shellfish and crustaceans are hauled out of the world’s oceans every year.

What consequences this has for the oceans, for the individual fish, but also for us human beings is the topic of this program.
